Using waste materials from the factory floor, Factory Trash interrogates end stage racial capitalism and examines the factory as the site of the sublime and the grotesque. It is always dusk in the factory. Dark and without natural light to signal to our circadian rhythm, our only rhythm is the banging of the looms and the ticking of the time clock. Technical textile waste stores energy and movement to create exquisite sculptural forms that sit in relief against a woven wall, a pliable plane. The factory is a site of capitalist production and anticapitalist social reproduction.
