Grief Weaving

Grief Weaving is a solo exhibition that explores grief through ritual, repetition and time. This work uses ritual to address larger themes of grief and isolation. As the viewer encounters this woven threshold on a monumental scale, time slows down and we can communicate through the weaving into other worlds. A mirrored brass plate etched with a trace of seaweed sits on the floor as another portal, while a vessel made from local wild clay and decorated using a Japanese rope marking technique dating from the prehistoric Jōmon period, we see across time and space.
